Torrent: FANTOM - REGIME OF CHAOS (2025) [EP] [MP3@320] [FALLEN ANGEL] |
...SIŁA I PIĘKNO MUZYKI TKWIĄ W JEJ RÓŻNORODNOŚCI
Fantom debiutuje w barwach Defense Records. Ich debiut 'Regime of Chaos' zebrał już wiele pochlebnych recenzji i opinii w środowisku metalowym, a już teraz dostepny jest oficjalnie za sprawą Defense Records.
Młodość, wściekłość i niesamowita energia!
Fantom to czterech przedstawicielu Thrash Metalu z Torunia. Mus dla fanów Slayer, Exodus i Carnivore.
From what to gather on Metallum's profile page, this is a young band from Poland, and to my ears, they're showing a lot of potential.
I totally dig the no-nonsense, old-school production on the instruments and vocals, for starters. It leaves a chaotic and wild impression, which is totally on board and to my liking when thinking of a young, enthusiastic thrash band. The instruments are forceful enough and clearly distinguishable. The bass is to be mentioned too, as it plays some nice lines and even a cool intro in "Nemesis in Leather", not only following the guitars all the time, which show some wild leads and energetic riffs.
The best part though is the, again a little chaotic but interesting, songwriting and arrangements. There are saxophone (!) interludes in "McFantom" along with other unexpected section- and rhythm-switch ups and almost proggy parts in this and the other songs. Some of these sections sound obscure and weird, but always interesting. In addition, there are constant attempts to make the songs memorable and catchy. All across the board, this is not your standard neo thrash release, which makes this all the more likeable.
The vocals sound aggressive and serviceable most of the time, even garnered with some touches of melody. In some moments however, they sound too "spoken", a little shaky and lose some intensity. However, this only means there is some room of improvement among the potential clearly shown overall.
As the band possibly works towards a full-length in the future, the prospect of the group channeling the many creative songwriting ideas more coherently and song-serving while working more on the vocals, is definetely a thing to look forward to.
